I mentioned my most recent tattoo a while back, and ended up linking to an Instagram photo of it since it was the only one I could find at the time. This is a black and white photo of it, and my second newest tattoo (which is the text on my wrist). The heart shaped balloon is red, the rest of it is black. The actual picture (girl and heart shaped balloon) is by Banksy, a UK based graffiti artist (wikipedia page here).
This was the week when I was in Sweden, and there were some good photos to choose from (even though I only went in to Stockholm with my camera one day). I will post some of the other photos which only just lost out to the one below at a later stage. The photo which I picked just reminds me of home I suppose. Love these lights my parents have hanging over the back door in the kitchen. I would steal them and take them with me home, but don't think that would go down too well with mum ;)
Day 24: 03-Nov-2013
Ok, so yesterday I spent most of the day on my sofa feeling like I was coughing my lungs up (stupid cold.. :/ ) and had an afternoon nap (after having not gotten much sleep during the night). So, to sum things up I didn’t get much done yesterday. Which is also why the photo for yesterday was a bit of a last minute thing, and technically it was probably taken after midnight.. But my 30-day challenge, my rules - so I say it still counts ;)
Day 25: 04-Nov-2013
Lovely day today - clear blue sky and a bit cold :) ventured as far as the alleyway that my front door faces onto ;P still, it’s the first time I’ve even opened the front door since getting back from town on Saturday. At least I got a bit of fresh air, and the photo turned out alright as well :)
Hmm.. have built up a bit of a back log again this week..
Day 20: 30-Oct-2013
The Elite building in town. Waiting for the bus to go to work, and it was a really nice morning - clear blue sky, and a bit cold.
Day 21: 31-Oct-2013
This was on the notice board in the prayer room in the Inspire building by church :)
Day 22: 01-Nov-2013
Persistent little plant on the stone wall for St. John’s Church along Church Drive. One of the many plant still green even though it’s now getting to the beginning of November.
Day 23: 02-Nov-2013
Some of the leaves have started coming off the trees, especially as it’s been windy the last couple of day. Just liked the colours on this one and how the leaves matches the yellow road markings.
Day 18: 28-Oct-2013
At the back of the back garden. Everything is still very green for it being the end of October.
Day 19: 29-Oct-2013
There’s some benefits of it being dark when getting home from work :) Fun with camera, monopod, and a slow shutter speed at the bus stop on Mansfield Road.
Day 9: 19-Oct-2013
Had a wander around town yesterday, and remembered the sculpture I'd seen "behind" Albert Hall a few weeks ago when I didn't have my camera with me. Would love to take photos of it again when the weather is a bit nicer. Massive mirror dish by the Nottingham Playhouse, with the Albert Hall in the reflection. The sculpture is called Sky Mirror and is by Anish Kapoor, and it's 5.75x5.75x1.08 metres.
Day 10: 20-Oct-2013
My freshly re-installed MacBook Pro. Will have the joy tomorrow of setting it up and moving files back from external hard drive. A bit of geekyness never hurts ;)
Got a bit of a mini-theme going for the last two days - old and battered..
Day 7: 17-Oct-2013
Walk past this building every Thursday on my way to church. It looks old and worn, and seem to be one of many buildings that are unfortunately being left to fall into ruin.
Day 8: 18-Oct-2013
The skip "graveyard" near work. Always full of old dumpsters/skips that look like they've seen better days.
The weather forecast isn't looking too promising for the next week, but hoping to get out and about a bit more during daylight over the (extended) weekend. Just have to hope for no rain, and then I'll be sorted.
Day 5: 15-Oct-2013
50mm lens and some metal benches outside of the Theatre Royal - and hey presto! ;) A bit of abstractness achieved with shallow depth of field.
It's getting to that time of the year when it's dark outside by the time I leave work (especially since I never seem to leave on time), so I might have to try and get up earlier (the horror!) so I can get outside whilst there's some daylight. Another alternative is actually leaving my desk during my lunch break, for once, and go outside. There will probably a combination of the above - we'll see how things pan out :)
The last couple of weeks have been a bit hectic with different shifts, having water leak under the bathroom floor fixed, and having the bathroom and kitchen floor replaced. So didn't really get around to starting on 01-Oct, but I didn't want to leave it until November, so decided to start a couple of days ago. There's no theme as such to this - just me taking a photo every day for the next 30 days and putting them on here. Will aim to do it more regularly (like at the end of the day) rather than in bulk.
So, here we go :)
Day 1: 11-Oct-2013
This blue house amongst all the brick ones caught my eye whilst I was walking to catch the bus on Friday on my way to work. Actually had in mind to go photo something else - so I will save that for later in the month.
Day 2: 12-Oct-2013
Love my 50mm lens and the shallow depth of field - what else can I say? :) Oh, and despite my geekyness I still rely on the old "pen and paper" for list-making for certain things. That particular one is one of the to-do lists for my galleries (photos and portfolio), both of which still have many more photos to be uploaded to them.
Day 3: 13-Oct-2013
This is the view out of my lounge window. I'm sure there are more exiting views, but I love how the light hits the back of the buildings one street up. It's also a nice view to just sit and watch the clouds drift by - especially on summer evenings.
Day 4: 14-Oct-2013
The Samuel Hall, a pub in Sherwood. It is in part of what used to be the Sherwood bus garage. Took this whilst waiting for the bus this evening after having missed my stop on the way home (probably because I paying more attention to my phone than where the bus was going).
