The simple pleasure of a beautiful morning.. :) This was the sunrise as I waited for the bus on my way home from work in the morning.
They've put in new street lights in my area, and one morning I came home to notice that the one just two yards from my flat having been changed. And someone had drawn a heart in the freshly poured concrete :)
Autumny fisheyeness.
Was re-reading an old blog post, in a thoughtful mood on morning after 24+ hours awake (as you do when switching sleeping pattern on the night shift).
Playing around with the fisheye lens on the Olloclip, and my house keys and key rings.
Beautiful autumn evening sky on the way home from work.
This was my view from my seat at the gate as I was waiting for my flight back home from New York. I didn't really want to go home..
A bit of planning over breakfast :) Weetos, and gingerbread latte (in one of my favourite mugs) - nom nom nom :)
Also, I love love love Evernote :) Great app which lets you synchronise notes between devices, making notebooks, and you can add photos and web clippings to your notes. One of the apps I use mostly on a daily basis.
Was doing some planning for my trip to New York. Bought a notebook from Fotografiska to use as a travel journal for my trip. There is also the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard cover which works as a cover for the screen of the iPad but is also a bluetooth keyboard, and my favourite over ear headphones the Skullcandy Aviators which are super comfy and deliver great sound. Obviously the other items featured in the photo is my iPhone 5S, and also the Rough Guide to New York City.
Obligatory plane wing shot from the flight home from Sweden. Can't beat that view :)
Bought some of the "summer seconds" films from the Impossible Project. Basically they're film which didn't pass the quality control. Got two bags of three packs of film, and this is the first one I've used of them. For this particular pack the alignment was off (hence the white border along the right hand side).
The evening sky from my lounge :) This was at about 9:15pm.
There are some benefits with working night shift and being up at 5:15am :) You get to see nice morning skies like this one - this one was the view from my lounge window :)
Some of my first polaroids developed using the Instantlab from the Impossible Project. The Impossible Project manufacture film for Polaroid cameras, and as a kickstarter project they have also done the Instantlab which will allow you to develop polaroids (on actual film, not just printing) from your iPhone. I bought mine a few months back, and I love it :)
From the top, left to right, we have: My parents' house, London from the Shard, lavender from my parents' garden, Church Drive in Carrington, the Apple store in Covent Garden, one of my pairs of shoes, London from the Shard, and Brunkebergstunneln in Stockholm.
Extreeeeme closeup :) Having some fun with the Olloclip 4-in-1 lens for my iPhone 5S. This is using the 10x macro lens to get some closeups of the detail on parts of the cord for my RHA MA750i headphones.
Off to London for the day tomorrow :) and will be taking this (the Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 EX DC HSM lens) with me to see how it does at the top of The Shard.
On my way home from work on Wednesday it was actually nice and sunny (after a few weeks of grey and miserable weather), and the flowers in the little communal garden behind my flat have started flowering. Took some photos with my iPhone 5S, and also put the macro lens of my Olloclip 4-in-1 lens to the test. The Olloclip is a 4-in-1 lens which slots onto the iPhone on the corner where the camera is. It's got a wide angle lens, a fisheye lens, and two macro lenses (one 10x and one 15x).
The below is the middle of a flower, and it was taken with the 15x macro lens. It's a bit blurry as it was a bit windy, which is not ideal when it takes so little to make the photo out of focus at that high magnification.
Playing catch-up on these a bit atm, because this week (3rd-9th March) is actually week 10. The week 10 photo will come tomorrow. This one is an exception to the rules of my fifty-two week challenge as it wasn't taken during week 9. I had planned to go to Nottingham Light Night on the Friday that week (on the 28th Feb.), but as I spent the day knocked out with a migraine it didn't happen. This was in fact taken as I was waiting for the bus on Monday morning. It was a lovely morning (despite it being Monday), and I love the reflections you get off the bus stops at certain angles.
On my way home from Sweden I had to change train at Manchester Piccadilly station (as I my flight went to Manchester Airport). I had a 20 minute wait, and fortunately (with a 22kg suitcase and 10kg hand luggage) my train home went from the opposite side of the platform the train came in to from the airport. Also, I got a nice view of the main station building as you can see below.
Since I was working all through christmas and new year I went over to Sweden to see my family in January instead. Went for 11 days (10th-20th), and as always it was really nice to see everyone; especially as I hadn't seen them since July. This photo was taken just as I got out the exit at Arlanda Airport and I was heading for the coach going into Stockholm.
